Curriculum Developer and LMS Specialist
This role merges strategic curriculum development with hands-on Learning Management System (LMS) administration to create and deliver exceptional learning experiences for our Scholars. The Curriculum Developer and LMS Specialistwill be the driving force behind designing cohesive learning pathways, building and maintaining our LMS infrastructure, creating and evaluating curriculum, and ensuring all educational content is user-friendly, accessible, and aligned with our scholars' success and our corporate partners' employment needs. This is a highly collaborative role requiring both strategic thinking and operational excellence while supporting organizational growth and scaling. This role will work in close partnership with our AI Enablement Lead to explore and integrate AI tools into learning design and delivery, making it an exciting opportunity for someone energized by the intersection of education and emerging technology.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities
LMS Design and Infrastructure Management (50% of the role)
  • Build, configure, and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) D2L Brightspace, including course creation, user setup, progress tracking, and system optimization
  • Manage the back-end LMS infrastructure, ensuring technical stability, regular updates, and proactive problem-solving to support seamless user experience
  • Track and monitor student progress through LMS dashboards and analytics, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for intervention
  • Design, build, and manage dashboards to ensure high-impact data is identified and tracked in alignment with organizational KPIs and strategic priorities
  • Coordinate with external curriculum partners, subject matter experts, and volunteers to integrate content into the LMS
  • Continuously optimize the LMS user experience through testing, feedback collection, and iterative improvements

Curriculum Development & Design (50%)
  • Develop and execute clear, coherent learning pathways for scholars aligned to the program model, strategic priorities, and target outcomes for participant success
  • Research and implement best practices in curriculum development, learning design, and educational technologies from leading organizations across sectors
  • Work cross-functionally to understand the needs of participants and corporate partners, adjusting curriculum to bridge gaps between scholar understanding and employer requirements
  • Develop and oversee evaluation metrics, creating data collection protocols and feedback loops to ensure learning experiences meet the needs of both participants and partners
  • Ensure curriculum and course materials are user-friendly, accessible, and sufficiently robust to facilitate effective use by all stakeholders
  • Oversee the consistent and high-quality delivery of curriculum and learning experiences, ensuring fidelity of implementation
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education and Experience

Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Learning Management Systems and e-learning platforms
  • Minimum 3 years of curriculum development, implementation, and/or instructional design experience
  • Experience in education and/or EdTech environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of learner-centered design and best practices in teaching and learning

Preferred
  • Experience leading and executing projects for a mid-sized team or organization
  • Experience supporting the operations or logistics of educational or nonprofit programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Finance or the Financial Services industry
  • Experience designing and managing evaluation metrics and feedback loops for learning outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work in startup or fast-growth environments with ambiguity

Compensation and Benefits
This position is based in Chicago, with a hybrid work environment. The salary range for this role is $65,000- $70,000, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package includes employee health care, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan and generous paid time off.
