Job description

Engineer โ€“ Sealant Process

Location: Paint Shop Automation Division


Position Summary

The Engineer (Sealant Process) is responsible for designing and implementing innovative, process-driven sealant and adhesive application solutions for FANUC America customers. This role performs process engineering analysis, feasibility studies, and system design to support customer quotations and execute automation projects from concept through launch.

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused problem solver with experience in paint processes, industrial robotics, and automated sealant or adhesive application systems. Experience with FANUC robots is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct process evaluations, feasibility studies, and technical assessments to support customer quotations.
  • Design and implement robotic sealant and adhesive application processes using a variety of dispensing technologies.
  • Execute process engineering activities throughout project implementation.
  • Perform customer demonstrations and prepare technical analysis and presentation materials.
  • Develop and program offline simulations of automated sealant application systems using FANUC software.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact during customer system launches, including extensive on-site support.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers on process engineering best practices.
  • Participate in new product development within the Paint Shop Automation Division.
  • Provide technical expertise during customer meetings and sales presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within engineering processes.
  • Perform additional engineering duties as required.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with process engineering and industrial automation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with industrial machine vision systems such as FANUC iRVision, Liberty Reach, Matrox, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with sealant and adhesive application systems, pumping equipment, and fluid delivery/control systems.
  • Experience with FANUC M710 and M20 series robots used in sealant applications.
  • Familiarity with FANUC ROBOGUIDE software, including HandlingPRO and PaintPRO.
  • Knowledge of DCS (Dual Check Safety) and industrial safety systems.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience with sealant and adhesive application equipment.
  • Experience with FANUC ISD and IPS dispensing systems.
  • Advanced FANUC robot programming experience.
  • Experience launching robotic automation systems at customer facilities.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
