Job description

This position was designed with the growing professional in mind. Train with staff members across Wings of Hope to get experience with potential career paths in human services, volunteer administration, counseling, nonprofit business administration, criminal justice, marketing and more! This unpaid volunteer position is designed for those who want to help in a general capacity at Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services, while getting work experience across all programs.

The role will include: Assisting clients with transportation, child care, research on resources, danger assessments, safety planning. Other duties may include: sorting donations, data entry, speaking at or attending events, donation collection, court advocacy, assisting clients with moving, administrative duties, making appointments with clients and other duties as assigned by the Volunteer Coordinator. The Volunteer Coordinator will evaluate performance of Voluntary Interns at least once a semester and will be a reference for any voluntary intern that leaves the Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services Volunteer department on good terms.

Qualifications:

  • The volunteer may be required to drive, so valid driver's license and auto insurance are required.
  • Must have at least one year of previous child care experience.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • 40 hours of training are required to complete (online and self-paced) before beginning this position.
  • An 8 hour a week commitment for at least one semester is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instruction required.

Hours:

Schedule and hours are negotiable but must fall between Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Weekend and evening hours not available at this time.
