Job description

The tradesmen will utilize their Journeyman training in the field of Insulation, Electrical, Welding, and Steam/Pipe-Fitting as directed by the site leadership team to obtain Turnaround repair objectives set out by MISTRAS Services Inc. client. The successful candidates must have an IRATA Rope Access course or be willing to undergo and successfully pass an IRATA Level 1 course as this is considered a prerequisite for the work to be performed. Rope Access Technicians Level 1, 2, or 3 without a Trade are also encouraged to apply!  

Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Abilities Required: 

  • Preform trade work related to your trained craft: Insulation, Electrical, Welding, or Steam/Pipe-Fitting 
  • Perform your designated craft with a high degree of skill and accuracy
  • Possess the necessary mechanical, and technical knowledge and skill related to your outlined craft  
  • Perform your designated craft as directed by the site leadership team to accomplish turnaround objectives as it pertains to your craft for site repairs
  • Mechanical aptitude, and dexterity 
  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions as it pertains to your Trade 
  • Ability to work in Hot/Cold environments
  • Ability to work in Dusty/Dry/Wet Conditions 
  • Ability to lift upwards of 25kg  

Technical Requirements: 

  • Possess a Canadian Journeyman Certificate in the field of: Insulation, Electrical, Welding, and Steam/Pipe-fitting  
  • Possess an IRATA Level 1, 2, or 3 (Or be willing to undergo a company sponsored IRATA Level 1 Rope Access course) 
  • Qualifying hours for insulation will be considered 
  • CWB all position welding qualification for Welders required 
  • Other welding qualification cards are a strong asset 
  • Other Trade based qualifications are an asset
