Control Systems Design Engineer

Responsibilities
The Control Systems Design Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, and integrating electrical and automation systems for custom industrial machinery. This role supports engineering efforts from concept development through commissioning, ensuring high-quality execution, system reliability, and alignment with project goals. The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to deliver robust automation solutions and support continuous improvement of equipment performance and engineering practices.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design electrical control systems for custom industrial machinery and automated equipment.
  • Develop electrical schematics for control panels and machine wiring using AutoCAD Electrical.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics
  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, automation, or industrial controls
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
  • This position requires U.S. person status (ITAR)

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in machine design, controls integration, or manufacturing engineering
  • PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley Logix / Studio 5000 preferred)
  • Servo motion system experience (Rockwell Kinetix)
  • HMI/SCADA programming experience (Ignition, Wonderware, LabVIEW, PanelView)
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems under 600V
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical
  • Experience with industrial robotics (Motoman, Fanuc, etc.)
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 79 standards
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
