USD 321 Job Description For CNA (Certified Nurses Aide) Position
CNA skills and qualifications
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills including patience, empathy and compassion
  • Ability to think and work independently and also with direction from the supervising RN
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities
  • Keen attention to detail and assessment skills
  • Familiarity with symptoms and signs of a number of medical conditions
  • Comfortable working with specific populations of staff and students, including those with special education needs and health care needs
  • State CNA certification with at least two years of working experience. Preferred recent full time CNA work but will consider recent part time.
  • Current CPR certification
  • Comfortable working on a computer
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
CNA Job Description
  • Work directly under the supervision of the school's Registered Nurse and perform all nursing tasks which may be delegated
  • Must maintain communication with supervising RN regarding student care
  • Provide nursing care to sick or injured students or staff as needed
  • Make phone calls to parents regarding their child's status
  • Administer medications to students following physician orders.
  • Help enter medical records into PowerSchool as directed by the RN
  • Able to take vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respirations of students as needed
  • Perform any medical procedures ordered by a physician and delegated by the RN.
  • Help perform vision and dental screening on students according to state screening guidelines
  • Able to maintain professional confidentiality
