This position is located at 1117 Trinity St., Austin, Texas in our Risk and Security Management department.

WHO YOU ARE:
You are a highly motivated risk professional ready to join the Risk & Security Management Department. You will serve as a resource to promote and protect the agency, its employees, contractors, and customers, by managing and mitigating risk. You are a self-starting, collaborative problem solver who understands the value of teamwork and following risk management practices.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Risk Management Specialist I performs routine (journey-level) risk management work. Work involves implementing agency risk management programs and conducting risk management reviews. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Assist in the planning, developing, and implementing department statewide initiatives.
- Processes agency identification badge applications and facility key requests.
- May assist with key and core audits.
-Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing risk management program policies and procedures.
-Assist with department incident reports for assessment and risk mitigation.
- Conduct on-site inspections of agency facilities to identify hazards and risk exposures.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-One year of full-time experience in planning or operation of risk management, information security, loss control, and/or the workers' compensation and safety programs.
-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
-Acceptance into a TWC Internship or TWC Apprenticeship will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
-Working knowledge of statutes, rules/regulations, standards, guidelines, and best practices involving the department's core areas of risk management, continuity/emergency management, safety, and physical security.
-Ability to gather, correlate, and analyze facts, to devise solutions to problems.
-State agency experience.
-Risk management-related certification(s).
