Overview of the Program

Lincoln Electric's RedViking Mechanical Engineering Internship Program offers hands-on experience in mechanical engineering. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, and debug custom robotic work cells and industrial automation systems. This program is ideal for individuals eager to apply their academic knowledge in a fast-paced, real-world environment where innovation and collaboration drive success. This position requires participation in our Immersion Day at our Cleveland, OH headquarters during one of your first few weeks. Lincoln Electric will provide and cover all travel arrangements and expenses.  

What You'll Work On
  • Develop custom manufacturing equipment tailored to specific customer requirements. 
  • Assists in the conceptualization, design, development, and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery used in automated systems. 
  • Design and implement automated systems for customer applications with a focus on automation. 
  • Engineer robotic solutions to optimize internal manufacturing processes. 
  • Conduct engineering analysis on mechanical designs to validate performance, identify improvements, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Basic Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology   
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • An engineering degree in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Industrial, or any related technologies 
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
  • Familiarity with OSHA, SDS, and ANSI (RIA) safety standards
