Job Summary
  • Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an experienced Field Technician 3 to support the Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) Electronic Warfare product line at U.S. Air Force installations throughout the United States and international locations.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with experience in radar systems, electronic warfare (EW), RF electronics, military communications, avionics, field service engineering, or defense systems maintenance. The selected candidate will perform field upgrades, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and system modifications on advanced electronic warfare platforms supporting critical national defense missions.
  • While Buffalo, NY serves as the primary home base, alternative home-base locations may be considered for qualified candidates.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy to USAF installations across CONUS and OCONUS to support JTE system upgrades and maintenance.
  • Install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic warfare equipment and subsystems.
  • Diagnose system faults and perform corrective maintenance activities.
  • Execute engineering changes, system modifications, and hardware/software upgrades.
  • Utilize electronic test equipment including:
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Spectrum Analyzers
  • Multimeters
  • RF Power Meters
  • Support integrated radar, RF, digital signal processing, and electronic warfare systems.
  • Document maintenance activities and provide technical status updates.
  • Collaborate with engineering and program teams to ensure successful field deployments.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of field technician experience in electronics, radar, RF systems, avionics, communications systems, or related technical disciplines.
  • OR Associate Degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Military Electronics, or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing:
  • Radar systems
  • Electronic Warfare systems
  • RF equipment
  • Digital electronic systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% of the time, including international assignments.
  • Ability to lift and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Associate's Degree or higher in a technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of customer-facing field service experience.
  • Experience supporting Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) or CEESIM systems.
  • Military training in Electronic Warfare, Radar, RF Electronics, Communications, or Avionics.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Radar diagnostics
