Position Job Type: Seasonal - This position is for the school calendar year beginning in early-mid August 2026 and ending in late May 2027.
Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years old
Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.00/hr. depending on experience
Are you energetic, dependable, and enjoy working with children? As a Club Rec Counselor, you'll help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for students in our Before and After School Program. From leading activities and games to assisting with homework and building positive relationships, you'll play an important role in making each day a great experience for our participants. This is a terrific opportunity for individuals who are considering a career in education, social work, recreation, or similar and giving back to the community. Job Summary: The Club Rec Counselor is responsible for assisting with the supervision of children in our before and after school program at various local schools. Counselors help run games and activities, assist with homework, and provide a safe and fun environment for students. Previous experience and a desire to interact with school-age children is preferred with the capacity to provide quality customer service. Ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults and work collaboratively with co-workers and supervisors is essential. Additional duties may include room set up and cleaning, attending staff meetings and training, and other duties as assigned. This is an at-will position.
Hours:
Monday-Friday (availability for both shifts is not required, but is preferred)
6:45 am-8:45 am AND 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
While it is our preference to hire candidates who are available for the entire school year, we understand high school students may have other commitments throughout the school year (such as sports) that may require an absence for a limited time period.
Additional hours for School Days off, early dismissal and half days, and school break camps will be required. Those dates and times will be given upon being hired.
Qualifications and Training Expectations:
  • Outgoing and friendly personality with a desire to serve, engage, and educate children.
  • Previous daycare, babysitting, teaching, camp or related experience working with children is highly desired.
  • Customer service focused with previous experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults both verbally and in writing.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a strong sense of safety and the capacity to act calmly and effectively under pressure or in difficult or emergency situations.
  • Dependable and flexible with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain discretion with regard to confidential matters and/or information.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certified or the ability to obtain within three months of hire.
  • Required to obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter Training, Sexual Harassment & Abuse Prevention Training as well as safety training as required.
