Job description

This position is located in the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department, Naval Station Great Lakes, Great Lakes, IL. The purpose of this position is to provide the technical expertise to design and implement a program of maintenance for the Golf Course, driving range, practice putting green, which includes the greens, tees, fairways, roughs, the irrigation system, related facilities and equipment. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining the golf course within budgetary limitations.Qualifications:Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs.
A qualified candidate must possess:
Required to have a broad background in Golf Course maintenance and operations, having experience and knowledge of established agronomic practices either attained through academic achievements or practical experience.
Required to have knowledge of various types of pests and pesticides required for treatment and be certifiable in herbicide application.
Experience in determining the method of operation and analysis of complex problems and interpretations of procedures.
Required to have a working knowledge of and professional expertise in Golf Course equipment. Required to have knowledge and understanding of the rules of golf along with the ability to view golf course from the perspective of the patron.
Must possess ability to lead and supervise employees.
A Valid state driver's license current CPR/First Aid Certificate, and State and Federal pesticide mixing licenses are required.Education:This position does not have a positive education requirement.Employment Type: OTHER
