Job description

We are seeking a skilled Intermediate to Senior Truss Designer to join our team. This role is responsible for the design, layout, and optimization of roof and floor truss systems for residential, multi-family, and light commercial projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of structural principles, design software, and building codes, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

We are open to both in-office and remote candidates, depending on experience and qualifications. Remote team members must be self-driven, organized, and able to communicate effectively within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design roof and floor truss systems using industry-standard software (e.g., MiTek, etc.)
  • Interpret architectural drawings, engineered plans, and specifications
  • Ensure truss designs meet building codes, load requirements, and safety standards
  • Optimize designs for cost efficiency, manufacturability, and structural integrity
  • Coordinate with sales, production, and installation teams
  • Provide technical support to customers, framers, and builders
  • Review and revise designs based on engineer or customer feedback
  • Maintain accurate documentation and design records

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years (Intermediate) or 7+ years (Senior) experience in truss design
  • Proficiency in truss design software (MiTek or similar)
  • Strong understanding of structural loads, lumber properties, and building codes
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
