Job description

We are currently looking for a Business Development & Capture Intern for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This paid graduate-level internship provides hands-on exposure to federal business development, market research, opportunity qualification, capture planning, competitive intelligence, and proposal development. The intern will receive mentorship while collaborating with business development leaders, solution architects, proposal professionals, technical subject matter experts, and executive leadership.

This internship pays $40.00 per hour and requires approximately 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with scheduling flexibility during standard business hours. The intern will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and may be considered for full-time employment following successful completion of the internship, based on performance and business needs.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market, customer, industry, and competitive research to identify potential federal business opportunities and emerging technology trends.
  • Assist with opportunity qualification, pipeline management, competitive intelligence, capture planning, and customer-priority analysis.
  • Support proposal development by coordinating information and deliverables across technical, pricing, business development, and proposal teams.
  • Prepare presentations, competitive analyses, executive briefings, research summaries, and other business development materials.
  • Track business opportunities, maintain accurate CRM records, and participate in cross-functional meetings with business development, engineering, and executive leadership teams.
  • Apply emerging technology and market insights to support strategic growth initiatives across federal healthcare technology programs.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an MBA, Master's in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related graduate degree from an accredited university, with expected graduation within the next 6-12 months.
  • Strong analytical, market research, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and understand their potential applications within healthcare IT and federal technology consulting.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and professional communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a cross-functional environment.

Additional Qualifications

  • Previous internship, academic research, consulting project, or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or another customer relationship management platform is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI productivity tools and an interest in healthcare IT, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, or digital transformation are preferred.

  • All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required for the position.
