Position Description:
Fully Remote
We are seeking a full-time Professional Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic and growing mechanical engineering consulting practice with detailed experience in Healthcare Design. We are looking for motivated candidates who can grow with this department. The selected applicant will perform engineering studies and engineering design services at a variety of Healthcare and Laboratory facilities. Experience performing Critical environment design, cleanroom design, USP 797/800 Compliance, and BSL-2/3 rooms is a must. This position will require you to perform initial design field surveys of government, commercial, industrial, multifamily residential, manufacturing, and institutional properties. You will collect relevant information to help redesign existing facilities, resolve issues as part of a redesign project, perform code require renovation upgrades, and cost/ benefit analysis. Some projects will require energy modeling with Trane Trace, eQuest, or similar software. The ideal candidate will be adaptive to working with all property types, and knowledgeable regarding a variety of HVAC systems to include variable volume laboratories, chilled water distribution, and critical pressure controls.
The successful candidate may also be expected help perform commissioning activities such as construction document review, construction field installation verification, and equipment functional testing. Depending on project capacity, this candidate may also be expected to assist in limited mechanical design.
Requirements
Job Specific Requirements:
  • An ABET accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 10+ Years and PE in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10 + years of experience with a variety of HVAC systems
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards
  • Familiarity with ICC Building, Mechanical and Green Energy Codes
  • Knowledgeable of USP Standards
  • Knowledge of ASHE and NFPA codes
  • Knowledgeable of Trane Trace or ASHRAE RTS Modeling
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to complete assignments on-time and within budget
  • Ability to travel on short notice (1 week or less).

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering

Registration Requirements:
  • EIT Required, PE Required

Communication, Language, and Software Skills
  • Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
  • Ability to exercise good interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements
Must be able to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be prepared to encounter all construction site conditions, including noise, dust, heights, odors, and enclosed spaces, and be physically capable of traversing sites with unstable footing, stairs, rough terrain, adverse weather, ladders, roofs, and other mobility-challenging conditions. Must possess the physical ability to take measurements, perform tests comparing in-place work to contract requirements, and observe work activities throughout the course of construction.
