Internship Remote Graphic information

What is a remote graphic design internship?

Remote graphic design internships are temporary work opportunities where students or early-career professionals assist companies with graphic design projects while working from home or another location outside the office. Interns gain practical experience in design software, branding, and visual communication, often collaborating with teams via online platforms. These internships help interns build their portfolios, develop industry skills, and make professional connections without needing to relocate or commute.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote graphic design intern?

To thrive as a Remote Graphic Design Intern, you need a solid understanding of design principles, proficiency in visual communication, and a portfolio demonstrating creative work. Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and basic knowledge of collaboration platforms such as Slack or Trello are typically expected. Strong time management, self-motivation, and clear communication skills set top candidates apart in remote environments. These skills and qualities are crucial for producing high-quality designs, meeting deadlines, and collaborating effectively with a distributed team.

What are some common challenges faced when working as a remote graphic design intern, and how can they be addressed?

Remote graphic design interns often encounter challenges related to communication and feedback, since collaborating virtually can sometimes lead to misunderstandings or delays in project review. To address this, it's important to proactively schedule regular check-ins with your supervisor, use project management tools to track tasks, and clarify expectations upfront. Additionally, managing your own time and staying motivated without in-person supervision can be tricky, so setting a structured daily routine and leveraging online design communities for support can help you stay productive and connected.

Job description

About Annie Aesthetic
Annie Aesthetic is one of the fastest-growing private equity platforms in medical aesthetics - a multi-brand, multi-site company spanning medspas and functional health clinics across the U.S. We acquire best-in-class practices and build them into durable, growing businesses, with a hands-on, operator-led approach across every brand in our portfolio.

The Role
We're hiring a Social Media Intern to help run content and engagement across our portfolio of medspa and wellness brands. You'll build real, hands-on experience across content creation, community growth, and reporting - with ownership over the accounts you manage, not busywork. This is a great fit for a marketing student graduating in the next 12-18 months who wants an internship that could turn into a full-time role as we scale.

What you'll own:

  • Create and edit reels/video content on schedule with our content calendars
  • Design on-brand graphics in Canva across multiple accounts
  • Repurpose posts into stories and across platforms
  • Drive follower growth through consistent profile engagement (likes, comments, follows)
  • Keep bios, links, highlights, and visuals current and optimized
  • Populate weekly/monthly reports from platform insights and flag notable trends
  • Keep content and reporting assets organized

What you bring:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Comfort managing multiple brands and deadlines at once
  • Proficiency with Canva
  • Currently a marketing student, graduating within 12-18 months
  • Available 10-15 hrs/week, Mountain or Central time preferred
  • Experience in beauty, wellness, or medical aesthetics - not required, but a plus
