Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for providing health care services by applying x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs computed tomography and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomical images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Ensures accuracy and quality of diagnostic images. Maintains compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards. Supports patient care by delivering timely and precise computed tomography imaging services.
Essential Functions
• Verifies patient identity and exam orders prior to procedures.
• Obtains and communicates relevant clinical history from charts, referrals, or patient interviews.
• Operates and maintains CT equipment and accessories according to established protocols and safety standards.
• Selects and adjusts scanning protocols to optimize diagnostic quality based on patient needs and image review.
• Positions and accommodates patients to ensure comfort, safety, and accurate imaging.
• Monitors patients for signs of distress and responds appropriately.
• Evaluates image quality and ensures accurate patient identification on all images and media.
• Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure for patients, self, and others.
• Performs venipuncture and administers contrast media as prescribed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiography program or equivalent.
Experience Requirement
0-2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Certifications & Licensures
Basic Life Support (BLS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), CT certification within 12 months of hire
