This role is designed for optimal flexibility, as it operates in a fully remote setting. Team members will frequently interact with various healthcare professionals and gain insights from diverse colleagues. The work involves a climate-controlled office environment focused on mental health care, where the LCSW will be actively using telemedicine and teletherapy models as needed. • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients to determine their mental health status using standardized tools, including the DSM-5.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that integrate cultural considerations and tackle specific issues related to the patient's cancer diagnosis, aiming to support their mental well-being.
• Utilize a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques to implement intervention strategies that promote patient progress and recovery.
• Maintain meticulous documentation regarding treatment records and clinical observations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational protocols.
• Collaborate with patients and their families, as necessary, to create comprehensive care plans that encompass their specific goals and desired outcomes.
• Actively monitor patient progress, making timely adjustments to treatment strategies to ensure safety and efficacy.
• Facilitate referrals to additional treatment providers as needed and serve as a liaison to coordinate care.
• Provide mentorship and education to interns, residents, and volunteers in clinical practices, contributing to a supportive learning environment.
• Engage in peer reviews and offer clinical feedback to help enhance the skills and professional growth of team members.

The primary patient population for this role will consist of individuals and families navigating the complex emotional and mental health challenges that come with cancer diagnoses. The LCSW will be instrumental in offering therapeutic support through various stages of treatment, focusing on resilience, emotional regulation, and coping strategies. This specialized focus equips the clinician to make impactful contributions to patient care.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Maryland.

• Previous experience in mental health, particularly within oncology or chronic illness population.
• Familiarity with teletherapy and telehealth platforms.
• Experience using evidence-based practices in clinical settings.

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
