CNN Health Internships: ATL - Fall 2026

This internship will be located in the Atlanta area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager's in office schedule.
Interns with CNN Health are not here to observe. Our interns get a front row seat to everything we do and are here to contribute.
Your Role Accountabilities
Learn how TV and text stories are crafted
Learn how we vet stories and research
Learn how a story goes from an idea to a script, through edit and onto TV or our website
Develop and strengthen research and interview skills
Contribute to and write stories for CNN TV and CNN.com
Qualifications & Experience
Writing experience with work samples, including published bylines, is required. Please include links to your published bylines and/or your writing portfolio on your resume.
Passionate about news, self-motivated and able to multitask
Experience in news writing is a must, and experience in medical news or the field of health and science is ideal
Positive attitude and ability to function well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
A keen understanding of how to spot and tell a great news story
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
