Job description

Enjoy a $20,000 signing bonus and relocation assistance with this full-time day position as a Clinical Educator in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This role supports the educational growth and professional development of nursing staff by designing and delivering orientation, in-service training, and continuing education programs tailored to the unique needs of the patient population.
Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a professional role model and consultant within the unit.
  • Respond to code blue situations on the unit.
  • Act as a resource nurse when needed and assist in assessing unit systems to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in setting and evaluating unit goals.
  • Coordinate and present formal and informal educational sessions for all unit staff, including agency personnel.
  • Assess educational needs and facilitate staff involvement in program development.
  • Provide input for staff evaluations and function as a preceptor for classroom and clinical instruction during orientation and internships.
  • Stay current with advances in nursing skills, techniques, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain competency for self and support competency development for unit staff.
  • Manage education files and ensure completion of staff competencies.

Education and Training
Must hold current Registered Nurse licensure. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or actively pursued with completion expected within three years. A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a master's degree in a related health field is preferred. Nursing certification is also preferred.
Experience
Three to five years of recent experience in Cardiac Surgery ICU nursing is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills, effective organizational abilities, and leadership qualities are essential. The role requires verbal communication skills for presentations and involves physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting. There may be exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, so appropriate precautions are necessary.
