About the Job:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant with a Limited License in Radiography (LLR) / Basic X-ray Machine Operator (BXMO) qualification. This specialized role requires excellent patient care skills and concierge-level customer service as you manage both administrative and clinical duties, with a focus on performing routine X-ray exams for our dedicated patient community.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):

1. Limited Scope Radiography

  • Procedure Execution: Perform routine X-ray exams and procedures following the scope of work for a Basic X-ray Machine Operator (BXMO) per state guidelines.

  • Patient Safety & Positioning: Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, position patients, and take X-rays of specific parts of the patient's body as requested by the Provider.

  • Image Quality: Ensure the X-ray has a clear image, retaking image(s) as appropriate, and sending the final image to the Provider for review.

  • Safety & Equipment: Protect patient, self, and other staff from radiation hazards (including using a dosimetry badge). Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment; order necessary supplies.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Maintain and document required records in the EMR, including patient records, daily logs, and monthly/quarterly reports. Perform quantity and quality control checks to ensure the X-ray unit meets state standards.

2. Clinical & Administrative Support

  • Patient Flow & Vitals: Greet and Room patients, measure and record vital signs, and collect blood and urine samples as needed.

  • Environment: Maintain clean and disinfected exam rooms between patients.

  • Clerical Duties: Handle clerical responsibilities, including registration, answering phones, scheduling, and referral management.

  • Judgment & Protocol: Exhibit good clinical judgment within the scope of the LLR/BXMO role and follow all clinical and basic X-ray scope protocols per company policy and state guidelines.

What You'll Bring to the Team (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Education (Required): High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certification (Required):

    • Medical Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited MA program.

    • Completion of a Limited License X-ray course from an accredited program and holds a license/certification for that State.

    • Must hold a Limited License Certification (LLR) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography examination in the State in which you practice.

  • Licensure/Registration (Required): Current BLS Certification required.

  • Experience: Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical setting, OR entry through an approved CareATC Internship or school-sponsored externship program.

  • Core Skills: Excellent patient care skills, great communication, and strong customer service abilities.

  • Other Requirements: Current health records with appropriate documentation for immunizations (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
