A Day in the Life:
As a Design Quality Engineer I within Medtronic's Enabling Technologies team, you will play a key role in supporting innovative imaging systems that help surgeons perform complex spinal and cranial procedures with greater precision. Working as part of a cross-functional engineering team, you will help ensure product quality and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle by supporting design changes, investigating product performance, analyzing field trends, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve quality engineering aspects of engineering change orders supporting released products.
- Investigate field complaint trends and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Assist in testing and evaluating proposed product design changes and updates to intended use.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated throughout product development and sustaining activities.
- Develop and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to verify product performance and reliability.
- Support the design and qualification of inspection and testing equipment and perform data analysis to evaluate product quality and compliance.
- Ensure documentation and corrective actions meet applicable quality system and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in or lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities to improve product quality and reliability.
- Support design quality, product evaluation, reliability engineering, and research and development initiatives related to product and process quality.
Location: Boxborough, MA (Onsite)

Minimum requirement:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent Technical/Scientific field with minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.

- Passion for learning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to technical detail and regulatory compliance.

- Experience with engineering investigations, testing, statistical analysis, or quality systems through coursework, internships, or co-op experience is a plus.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$66,400.00 - $99,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
