The Core Engineering team is the technical backbone and component authority for shock absorber components and technologies, translating vehicle-level requirements into robust, manufacturable damper solutions by owning engineering fundamentals, design standards, and validation methodologies across global programs.
The Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, validation, and industrialization of new suspension components, supporting both passive and semi-active systems, while collaborating closely with global engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and OEM customers. This position offers a balance of hands-on technical work, cross-functional exposure, and guided ownership, with clear growth toward senior technical roles.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the design and development of new shock absorber components and technologies, for passive and semi-active dampers. (Valves, Tubes, Fluids, etc)
  • Apply fluid mechanics and hydraulics principles to support damper performance, flow behavior, and functional optimization.
  • Support component development from concept through prototype, validation, and production release following automotive project cycles.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings with detailed GD&T, in accordance with internal and global standards.
  • Perform and document engineering calculations, design trade-off studies, and technical justifications.
  • Work with simulation and CAE teams to support virtual validation and verification activities
  • Support creation and maintenance of DFMEA, DVP&R, statements of requirements, and design documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews with internal stakeholders and OEM customers.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, weight, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Apply materials science, manufacturing process knowledge, and DFM/DFA principles throughout the design process.
  • Support prototype builds, testing activities, data acquisition, and post-processing analysis.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for development or production issues.
  • Work closely with global engineering teams, Tier-2 suppliers, and OEM customers.
  • Stay current with emerging suspension technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods.
