Description

The Pyxis Systems & Storeroom Manager is responsible for managing the automated medication dispensing units systems.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the installation of automated medication dispensing units (AMDU)
  • Manages the console formulary for new medication and CDM numbers
  • Manages the AMDU user databases, issues new passwords for updating files
  • Monitors the inventory and expiration dates within the AMDU and main pharmacy, and adjusts contents/pars accordingly
  • Generates narcotic usage and discrepancy reports, and works with nursing to reconcile discrepancies
  • Monitors AMDU usage for potential diversion and override reports for appropriateness
  • Troubleshoots for malfunctioning ADT, profile and billing interfaces and equipment/software malfunctioning
  • Trains hospital personnel in proper use of the machinery and associated software (i.e. Kitcheck, Pyxis ES)
  • Develops, reviews and updates AMDU policies and procedures to comply with federal, state and city regulatory requirements
  • Rotational on-call responsibilities as assigned
  • Oversees pharmacy technicians and interns assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Prior AMDU and hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience preferred.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,500 - $101,640 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
