Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Electronics Engineer to join our Sensing and Communications Department. Successful candidates will have a M.S. degree or B.S. degree in electrical engineering with a focus in analog and digital circuit design and experience building, integrating, and debugging electronics assemblies. Successful applicants will support the design and development, troubleshooting, production, and sustainment of a wide variety of underwater maritime electrical and electromechanical systems. Candidates must have a solid foundation in understanding and working with analog circuits, digital logic, ADCs, microcontrollers, DC/DC converters, digital communications protocols (RS232/RS422, I2C, I2S, SPI, McBSP), preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and interfacing to embedded microprocessors. Job Functions and Responsibilities • Design, integration, troubleshooting, production, and sustainment of complex electrical and electro-mechanical systems. • Design, procurement, and testing of custom analog/digital PCBs • Travel to support exercises Required Skills and Attributes • BS in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in microelectronics • No professional experience is required but past internships in engineering are highly desirable • Proficiency with electronic laboratory test equipment including, digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, function generator, digital voltage and current measurement probes. • Experience troubleshooting printed circuit boards and electronics assemblies including cables, sensors, grounding, and noise. • Ability to grasp, organize, and communicate complex concepts, both electrical and organizational, and interface with multi-disciplinary team. • Basic proficiency interfacing with Linux based systems • Basic competence with Matlab data analysis • Proven experience designing custom PCBs from conception to implementation • Understanding or experience with electronic layout, bill-of-materials, and assembly process • Experience designing with analog sensors, ADCs, and embedded processors • Affinity for working on a team Preferred Skills and Attributes • MS in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in microelectronics • 1 to 3 years' experience designing electronics • Experience with Altium for schematic capture • Experience with LTSPICE for circuit simulations • Experience with C/C++ coding for microcontrollers (or similar e.g. Python) • Experience using National Instruments (or similar) data acquisition systems and LabView • Experience or familiarity with electronics assembly, wiring, crimping, soldering a plus. An immediate position is open in our Groton, CT office. Full relocation provided. This position can also be located in Concord, MA
