Job Summary:
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is seeking a Software Developer to design, code, test, and maintain high-quality web applications. This role involves collaboration with developers, designers, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle to meet user needs and business requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Work closely with team members to design and implement web application solutions.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and application stability.
• Monitor application performance, diagnose issues, and implement fixes to ensure optimal functionality.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues to identify and implement effective solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest software development and web technologies and industry trends.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Five years of work experience in developing software systems in a professional capacity may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
• Three of these required five years of work experience in developing software systems may be substituted by any two (2) of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE 11 Developer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• or by one (1) of the following certifications: Google Cloud Certified-Professional Cloud Developer, (ISC)2 Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
Preferred:
• Hands-on experience in web application development and general software development using relevant technologies (e.g., C#, .Net, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, Angular, Vue).
• Prior work or internship experience in software development.
• M.S. degree in Computer Science.
• Strong portfolio of software products and one or more of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 6 Enterprise Architect, Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL 8.0 Database Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Google Cloud Certified-Professional Cloud Architect.
• Demonstrated experience in software development including the design, development, verification, integration, and deployment of software systems.
• Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience in Visual Studio.
• Familiarity with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java).
