What does an Internship PVD Process Engineer do?

An Internship PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) Process Engineer assists in the development and optimization of thin film deposition processes used in manufacturing, often in semiconductor or electronics industries. Interns typically work alongside experienced engineers to operate PVD equipment, conduct experiments, analyze process data, and troubleshoot issues related to film quality or equipment performance. This role helps students gain practical experience in process engineering, learn about advanced manufacturing technologies, and develop problem-solving skills relevant to high-tech industries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Internship PVD Process Engineer?

To thrive as an Internship PVD Process Engineer, you need a strong background in materials science, physics, or engineering, often pursuing or holding a relevant degree. Familiarity with Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) equipment, cleanroom protocols, and data analysis tools like SEM or SPC software is typically required. Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills help interns excel in dynamic engineering environments. These competencies are crucial for maintaining process quality, driving innovation, and collaborating effectively in high-tech manufacturing settings.

What are some common challenges faced by Internship PVD Process Engineers, and how can they effectively overcome them?

Internship Pvd Process Engineers often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting deposition equipment, optimizing process parameters for yield improvement, and interpreting complex data from thin film analyses. To overcome these, interns should proactively seek guidance from experienced engineers, utilize structured problem-solving techniques, and take advantage of internal training resources. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—such as equipment maintenance and quality assurance—also helps interns gain a broader perspective and develop practical solutions more efficiently.

AI Builder Internship - Atlanta, GA

Sharp Hue

Atlanta, GA • Hybrid

$15/hr

Part-time

Re-posted 2 days ago

Job description

The Role

We are hiring AI Builder Interns who are already obsessed with building things using AI tools. This is not a traditional coding internship where we teach you to code. You should already have an AI mindset and proficient with vibe-coding, automation, creating tools & microapps, experimenting with agents, and using AI platforms to accelerate work.

At Sharp Hue, AI is not a side project. It is how we work. We are an AI-first software development firm with a people-centered design philosophy. As an intern, you will work directly alongside senior teammates and leadership on real client and internal projects -- building AI-powered tools, repeatable processes, skills, and microapps that solve actual business problems.

What You Will Do

  • Build microapps, internal tools, and AI-assisted workflows for clients and Sharp Hue operations
  • Experiment with AI platforms, agents, and code-generation tools to find faster, smarter ways to deliver value
  • Create reusable skills, prompt patterns, and documented processes that the team can scale
  • Participate in client-facing work -- learning consulting fundamentals like discovery, scoping, communication, and follow-through
  • Collaborate with a small, senior team where your contributions are visible and your questions are welcome
  • Present your work, walk through your thinking, and receive direct feedback from experienced practitioners

Who Should Apply

You are a college student (junior or senior preferred) living in Atlanta during Fall 2026. You do not need an engineering degree -- business, analytics, information systems, and other disciplines are welcome -- but you must demonstrate proficiency with AI tools and platforms.

We are not here to spark your interest in AI. You should already have that fire.

You should be able to say yes to most of these:

  • You have vibe-coded projects and can show them -- a portfolio, GitHub repos, live demos, or recorded walkthroughs
  • You use AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) as a regular part of how you build
  • You have experimented with AI agents, prompt engineering, or platform integrations beyond classroom assignments
  • You are comfortable working independently, asking good questions, and communicating progress clearly
  • You are curious about consulting, client work, and how technology solves business problems -- not just technical puzzles
  • You are a fast learner who thrives in a small-team environment where you wear many hats

Interview Process

Our interview process is designed to see how you actually work, not how you answer hypothetical questions.

  1. Application review. Submit your resume and a portfolio or links to projects you have built using AI tools.
  2. Portfolio walkthrough. A conversation where you walk us through what you have built, why you built it, and what you learned.
  3. Live vibe-code session. You will build something on the fly using AI tools while we observe your process, decision-making, and instincts.

What You Will Learn

Working at a small AI consultancy is different from a corporate internship. You will touch many things in a short time and build skills that compound across your career.

  • Consulting skills 101 -- how to listen to a client, define a problem, scope a solution, and present your work
  • AI-first development practices -- prompt engineering, agent design, skill creation, and workflow automation
  • Professional communication -- written, verbal, and async collaboration in a client-facing environment
  • How a small software company operates -- sales, delivery, client management, and team coordination
  • Time management, self-direction, and accountability in a flexible work environment

Why Sharp Hue

You will join a team that treats learning as a daily habit and values curiosity, follow-through, and care for the people we serve. If you want an internship where you sit in the back of a meeting and take notes, this is not it. If you want to build real things, work with real clients, and sharpen your skills alongside a team that moves fast and teaches generously -- please apply.
