Job Description:

Position Title: Technical Crew/Set Design and Workshop Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY - This position is ideal for students interested in technical theatre, engineering, construction, or event production. You will get practical experience in a live theater setting. This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only. 
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Assist in setting up lighting, sound, and stage equipment for productions.
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of technical gear.
Working on screen / LED backdrop (QLab) technology.
Collaborate with the technical director(s) to ensure smooth production.
Help with stage design and construction of sets and props as needed.
Help with organization and clean up of materials and theatre space.
Support during live performances as needed to manage technical aspects.
REQUIRED Hard / Specialized Skills:
Knowlege of or willingness to learn carpentry/ using hand tools like drills, hammers, saws, etc.
Painting and Scenic Work: experience painting sets and/or crafting props
Stage Crew Experience: basic knowledge of backstage work
Lighting Basics: Familiarity with or willingness to learn hanging and adjusting lights
SOFT SKILLS:
Teamwork: Ability to work in a team on big projects
Communication and Time Management of assigned tasks

Reliability and Independence
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Technical Skills Development - Gain hands-on experience in set construction, scenic painting, and prop fabrication.
