Internships often require enrollment in or completion of an architecture degree and may lead to licensure requirements such as passing the Architect Registration Examination (ARE).

What do architect interns make?

Architect interns typically earn an hourly wage or a stipend that varies by location and firm, often ranging from minimum wage to around $20 per hour. Compensation may increase with experience and responsibilities, and some internships offer academic credit or professional development opportunities.

How to get an internship in architecture?

To secure an internship as an architecture student or recent graduate, build a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills, gain relevant experience through coursework or personal projects, and apply to firms or organizations that offer internship programs. Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD or Revit and understanding of building codes can improve your chances. Networking and reaching out directly to firms can also increase opportunities.
