Join a supportive Student Internship Program designed for master's level therapy students seeking hands-on experience in counseling, behavioral health, and human services. This internship offers a chance to foster individual growth for clients seeking mental health support in the Midwest region of the United States.
Essential Functions
- Provide outpatient behavioral health treatment under university and placement supervision, including individual, family, and group therapy tailored to internship hour requirements.
- Collaborate compassionately and with cultural sensitivity to develop personalized treatment plans addressing clients' unique needs.
- Conduct intakes, diagnostic assessments, and mental status exams upon client entry and every 90 days or as needed.
- Implement medically necessary treatment services and determine appropriate levels of care.
- Offer crisis assessment and treatment alongside clinical staff, including support and safety planning.
- Engage in care coordination with clients, families, treatment teams, and community agencies.
- Explore various departments to understand diverse services and tools enhancing mental health care quality.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation of all services provided.
- Complete assigned trainings and competency reviews.
- Participate in weekly individual or group supervision and maintain ongoing communication with supervisors.
