KJUS | Associate Product Engineer/Designer & Development (Clothing)

Assist Product Engineering & Design Team with all aspects of the design and development process for our Ski, Golf and Lifestyle collections. This position will report directly to the Director Product Design & Development.

Responsibilities:

Creation and Design (40%)

  • Work Cross functionally with design team, product team, and factories to design styles and create and update tech packs and systems with all necessary info about the products being developed
  • Modify designs during the development phases to realize the design goal
  • Work with design and development team to create the line from concept to bulk
  • Color the line based on feedback from design meetings
  • Work with team to meet deadlines for design and development
  • Comply with production calendars to meet all deadlines
  • Draw and update sketches
  • Fill out BOMs and Spec sheets in PLM
  • Support with technology graphics for sales and marketing purposes (icons, tech explanations)
  • Conduct market research to identify new trends in silhouettes and fabric
  • Keep tech packs and visual line sheets updated to represent what is in the current line
  • Create and maintain tech packs (BOM, technical sketches, construction references, measurement charts)

Tech Packs (25%)

  • Prepare fit comments and development comments and revise tech packs for production
  • Closely collaborate and communicate with suppliers, the product manager, and the other product engineer team members throughout the entire development process

Fittings (20%)

  • Collaborate with Design and Product Development teams to evaluate and fit garments

Print and Pattern (10%)

  • Assist Designer with Print and Pattern design

Samples (5%)

  • Assist Design and Development team with organization of catalogs samples and swatches

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design or similar field. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in apparel design
  • Minimum of 1 years of design and/or development experience
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and fitting
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Print and Pattern experience preferred
  • Extended periods of time sitting and/or standing, occasional lifting
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office, Outlook)
  • A passion for outdoor sports industry preferred
