Job description

We are looking for an experienced Screen Press Operator to join our Hayward team! If you have hands-on experience and take pride in quality work, we want to connect with you.
  • Schedule: Monday- Friday with OT as needed
  • 2nd Shift: 4:30PM -1:30AM
  • Pay range is $18-24 depending on experience.

Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience setting up and operating multi-color AUTOMATIC screen printing presses.
  • Experience with M&R presses preferred

Key Skills:
  • Strong eye for color and print quality
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to set up and troubleshoot multi-color jobs (2-11 colors)
  • Familiar with Pantone color matching system (PMS)
  • Experience working with specialty inks and effects
  • Basic understanding of color separation for print optimization
  • Knowledge of screen exposing and ink processes
  • Experience with ink mixing and color matching techniques

Job Duties:
The Screen Printers main functions are to create the printing design pattern, mix the correct ink color(s), loading the screen onto the printer, producing the final printed articles, and cleaning the machine after each batch. You may also be required to dry and fold the final printed articles before they are packaged and sent to the customer.
1. Prioritize work based on due date, ship method, blanks or fabric substrates and type (i.e., names
and specials.
2. Understand ink formulas PMS colors.
3. Receiving work order jobs for Screen Printing and examining the orders to determine estimated
printing times, ink, and material quantities.
4. Designing screen patterns according to customer specification by selecting screen size,
degreasing agents and emulsion coatings.
5. Loading screen into printer and installing, repositioning screen-printing plates and pressure roles
and calibrating printer before batch is printed.
6. Running prints and performing quality checks throughout the printing process.
7. Troubleshooting problems as they arise.
8. Perform first piece inspection, reclaim screens, and use TS name template (whenever possible).
9. Ensure excellent print quality by checking the substrate sheets to catch possible problems
before it goes to press.
10. Drying, folding, and packing completed articles after the run.
11. Maintain a clean work area and keep manager informed of consumables inventory and printer
status (i.e., are there any errors that need to be cleared) and any other issues that arise during
the print process.
12. Record quantities in print production log.
13. Regularly employs continuous improvement techniques and practices in all activities.
14. Performs duties in compliance with Federal, state and local laws and regulations

  1. Customer orders are printed accurately and in conformance with their order requirements.
  2. Quality and safety standards are in place and being met or exceeded.
  3. Best practices in daily operations are implemented, practiced & regularly reviewed.
