Job description

Job Summary

Position: Principal or Senior Principal Structural Engineer (Naval & Oceanic Systems). Location: Annapolis, MD. Travel 10% of time. Security clearance required: TS/SCI (US citizen).

Responsibilities
  • Perform linear and non‑linear structural analyses of individual components and complex underwater assemblies using hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and bolted joint calculations.
  • Lead a small team of structural analysts to support program analysis needs and ensure designs meet program requirements, schedule, and budget objectives.
  • Collaborate in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Communicate results verbally and in writing.
Qualifications – Principal Structural Engineer
  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent STEM) plus minimum 5 years of structural and/or thermal analysis experience, or MS with minimum 3 years.
  • Proficiency in FEMAP/Nastran or ANSYS, bolted joint analysis, structural hand calculations, and common engineering design, production, analysis, and office tools.
  • US citizen with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph.
Qualifications – Senior Principal Structural Engineer
  • BS in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or equivalent STEM) plus minimum 8 years of structural analysis and/or thermal analysis experience, or MS with minimum 6 years.
  • Proficiency in FEMAP/Nastran or ANSYS, bolted joint analysis, structural hand calculations, and common engineering design, production, analysis, and office tools.
  • US citizen with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Skills in shock, vibration, bolted joint calculations, fracture analysis.
  • Experience with CFD analysis, materials design for undersea environment, manufacturing techniques, integration and test.
  • Active Secret clearance.
Salary & Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 – $163,200.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 – $203,600.00.

Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives (for VP or Director positions).

Benefits include health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
