Job Title: Junior Manufacturing/Project Engineer
Locations: Middletown, CT 06023
Pay Rate: $32.00-36.00/hour, direct, full-time position with benefits
Area Code: 860, 203
Employment Type: Direct, Full Time
Overview:
A Project Engineer role is available at Belcan in Middletown, CT. This role will support multi-discipline teams using Agile methodology, balancing both long and short-term project deadlines. Project Engineer is expected to have a basic understanding of all technical disciplines within engineering and manufacturing. The role may involve a shop floor presence, expediting material through manufacturing and working with the engineering team on rework & repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interface daily with customers. Support projects, schedule meetings, report out information, and demonstrate successful methods to work around roadblocks or delays.
* Work five days per week in a customer facing environment.
* Evaluate tasks, utilize engineering standard work, assign and monitor tasks.
* Develop action items and assign to responsible parties, ensure tasks are completed within timeline.
* Provide metrics and trends for projections and visual data for presentations.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related STEM field.
* 1 or more years of experience in project engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar (internship experience considered).
* Proven ability to manage tasks independently and within a team.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong customer-facing presence.
* Strong proficiency in Excel; familiarity with tools like SAP, SmartSheets, SharePoint, or Teamcenter is a plus.
* U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience working in machine shop or manufacturing environments.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing, PPAP, or quality engineering practices.
* AutoCAD and blueprint reading skills.
* Familiarity with GD&T and engineering documentation.
