About the Role
Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft Fabric artifacts including Lake House, Warehouse, Semantical Models, Pipelines, Notebooks, Reports, etc. Serve as an advisor to PowerBI report developers, providing guidance on dimensional modeling and tabular design best practices.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Responsible for ensuring alignment between the data analytics platforms (Data warehouse) environment and business requirements
  • Extends existing and creates new MS Fabric data solutions using the full breath of components available withing that platform. Using DAX scripting languages, tables, relationships, and roles in Semantic Models and the full depth of Lake House and Warehouse components currently hosted inside MS Fabric
  • Collaborate with a team of BI Engineers to identify and implement a path forward in leveraging AI assisted BI development in MS Frabric
  • Creates and delivers end-user training and documentation and provides second-line support to power users who develop reports on behalf of their departmental colleagues
  • Lead application deployments, upgrades, and patch planning
  • Participate and contribute to daily scrum meetings
  • Maintains awareness of technology developments and makes recommendations to the Manager, Data Analytics Services
  • Participate in software licensing and support agreement discussions
  • Assists with resolution of escalated incidents and participates in problem management activities. Assumes ownership of level 3 support and troubleshooting of assigned data solutions
  • Assists in evaluating the business relevance and requirements of projects under consideration
  • Maintain existing data solutions, design and build from the ground up new data solutions including data warehousing dimensional models
  • Mentor junior developers
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to professionalism, delivering high-quality service, and maintaining a positive, solution-oriented ("can-do") approach. Effectively supports internal departments, external clients, and vendors through clear, courteous communication via electronic correspondence, telephone, and in-person interactions.

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Real-Time Intelligence)
  • Intermediate knowledge in developing Azure Data Factory pipelines to copy data from and to various sources and targets such as MSSQL, SharePoint and Excel is desirable .Experience in design, build, and management of scalable ETL/ELT data pipelinesExperience with SQL (T-SQL preferred) and basic Python or PySpark for notebook-based transformations
  • Experience with Devops version control and CI/CD for BI assets
  • Ability to configure and manage CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) in Microsoft Dev Ops, supporting Azure Data Factory and Microsoft SQL Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) is preferred
  • Working knowledge in performing data processing using Azure Data Factory, Azure Keyvault, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Storage Accounts is desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to perform advanced research that involves interpretation and analysis of data from a variety of sources
  • Translation of business questions and requirements into reports, views, and SQL queries
  • Expert knowledge of data warehouse architecture, data design patterns and data transformation best practices in environments of medium to large volume of data
  • Advanced hands-on experience with T-SQL, data warehouse concepts including dimensional modeling
  • Proficiency in Power BI - report development, semantic modeling, and deployment pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving and tenacity in creating solutions for complex and performant data challenges while handling hundreds of millions of records
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of DAX Scripting Language
  • Knowledge in at least one scripting language for predictive analytics and data visualization. (R or Python) is a plus
  • Hands on expertise with implementation of MS Fabric Semantic Model orMS Analyses Services Cube using the Tabular model in a medium to large enterprise is required
  • Manages and maintains Power BI/Fabric gateways, including installation, configuration, user access, and troubleshooting data source connectivity issues
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, and a self-directed approach to problem-solving. Takes initiative researching, experimenting, and troubleshooting before escalating blockers
  • Good knowledge of server hardware, server storage and other infrastructure, client/server applications, and server utilities
  • Expert knowledge of SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 and strong T-SQL skills is required
  • Strong discipline in following SQL coding styles which improves code readability and supportability
  • Experience supporting a 24x7 production environment
  • Ability to work effectively with both users and technical staff in team-oriented environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Ability to work successfully and independently in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Microsoft Operations Framework, ISO 9000 or similar process discipline is preferred
  • Remains open to technological change as generative AI becomes more integrated into the firm's practice, actively develop comfort with new tools, and adapt how work is performed to support efficiency and innovation

Required Experience
  • 3-6 years' experience in data analysis and data warehousing, with significant specialization in one or more areas of the above-mentioned areas of technology required
  • 1+ year of direct hands-on experience with at least two Microsoft Fabric item types: Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, or Semantic Models required
  • 2 years of DAX scripting experience required
  • Experience with legal financial data models is a plus

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent work experience
