This role demands expertise in Power BI, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data visualization, with the ability to transform raw data into meaningful insights to support critical business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in big data technologies, SQL development, and experience with multiple business intelligence environments. An active Top Secret clearance is required. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports to support business operations and decision-making.
Perform advanced data analysis, data modeling, and data visualization using Power BI and other BI tools.
Create, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and scripts.
Implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to move and transform data from source systems to target data warehouses or reporting systems.
Develop ETL mappings to extract data from various sources (databases, flat files, APIs), transform it according to business rules, and load it efficiently into target systems.
Conduct performance tuning of ETL jobs and BI reports to ensure optimal load and rendering times.
Participate in all phases of the development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, gather requirements, and translate them into technical specifications and actionable solutions.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all reporting layers.
Apply best practices in data management, data warehousing, and data governance.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior BI developers and analysts. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering.
Active Top Secret clearance is required.
Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.
Strong experience with SQL development and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
Expertise in ETL tools and frameworks, with a solid understanding of data transformation and integration practices.
Hands-on experience with data warehousing concepts, architecture, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with big data platforms and technologies is a plus (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with government or defense data environments.
Knowledge of cloud-based BI platforms and data services (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift).
Experience with DevOps, version control (e.g., Git), and agile methodologies.
