Industrial Maintenance Technician (HVAC, Electrical, PLC) – Direct Hire

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join their manufacturing team. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving automated production equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical systems, HVAC, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and preventive maintenance within an industrial manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance professional who enjoys solving complex equipment issues, working with advanced automation, and contributing to a safety-focused, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery, automated production equipment, and facility systems.

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and HVAC systems.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, diagrams, and equipment specifications.

  • Diagnose equipment failures using measuring instruments, gauges, testing equipment, and hand and power tools.

  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated manufacturing systems.

  • Support maintenance and repair of HMI interfaces, ladder logic controls, sensors, motors, drives, and electrical components.

  • Ensure equipment operates safely while minimizing production downtime.

  • Communicate maintenance issues, repair status, root causes, and corrective actions with supervisors and production personnel.

  • Assist production operators with proper equipment operation and safe work practices.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

  • Work collaboratively with engineering, tooling, machinists, production, and other maintenance personnel.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Perform additional maintenance responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Completion of an industrial maintenance program, formal apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on industrial maintenance experience.

  • 2–6 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing automated production equipment.

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Electrical systems

    • Mechanical systems

    • HVAC systems

    • PLCs

    • HMI interfaces

    • Ladder Logic

    • Hydraulic systems

    • Pneumatic systems

    • Robotics and industrial automation

  • Working knowledge of industrial electronics and electrical theory.

  • Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic computer skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at heights up to 20 feet using ladders and lifts.

  • Must be able to distinguish colors for electrical wiring and component identification.

  • Ability to safely lift, climb, bend, and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive manufacturing or high-volume production experience.

  • Experience with industrial robotics and automated manufacturing systems.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

  • Experience supporting preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives.
