2026 Summer Internship/ Co-Op Opportunity

Grow your expertise, skills, and experience through the KDM Engineering 2026 Internship/ Co-Op Opportunity. KDM is a growing, award-winning, minority- and woman-owned professional engineering firm focusing on electric, gas, site civil, and telecommunications engineering designs and support services.

KDM Engineering provides a one-of-a-kind, client-recognized training and mentorship program. Interns will be exposed to multiple departments and projects through our hands-on learning approach.


What You Will Learn

After on-site training, our interns will be exposed to real-world engineering project experience in substation design and development. As a Substation Engineering Intern, you will support the preparation and updating of design drawings, assist with revising markups, and contribute to project documentation and coordination efforts. You will work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design basis and ensure project alignment.

Throughout the internship, you will gain exposure to substation design fundamentals, electrical power systems, industry standards, and the full engineering workflow from concept through construction. Interns are expected to develop advanced technical skills while learning to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team on utility projects.


Qualifications for Internship/ Co-Op Opportunity

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related Undergraduate or Master’s program.

• We’re ideally looking for students currently in their Sophomore or Junior year College

• Demonstrate interest in infrastructure or related field.

• Competent interpersonal and communication skills

• Basic proficiency with office software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools

backgrounds
• Internship length: 1 year- We are looking for interns who can commit to the program for at least 1 year.
• Summer schedule: Part-time, 3- 4 days a week in person

• Once school starts, we will accommodate their class schedule
