Job description

Overview

Regeneron's Preclinical Manufacturing & Process Development Group (PMPD) in Tarrytown, NY seeks a Process Development Engineer to support purification development and assist in technology transfers to internal manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform process development for pre‑clinical and clinical purification processes
  • Document experiments, results, and findings in an electronic laboratory notebook
  • Read and understand scientific literature and technical documentation, then verify literature findings with experimental plans
  • Maintain instruments and troubleshoot instrumental and experimental problems
  • Develop technology and automation to increase throughput and efficiency of pre‑clinical manufacturing and support improvement initiatives
  • Present work at group and department meetings
  • Build relationships within the subgroup, train and mentor peers, co‑op students, and interns
  • Assist colleagues in experiment execution and seek support when necessary
Who We’re Looking For
  • Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, team environment
  • Show initiative and drive to complete ambitious tasks and learn new technologies
  • Contribute to lab equipment maintenance, safety, and SOP compliance
  • Anticipate and prevent potential problems with laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Keep up with SOP training and compliance responsibilities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biochemistry
  • 0–3 years’ experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong fundamental understanding of protein purification and technology transfer principles (preferred)
  • Experience with downstream development and equipment such as Akta systems, centrifuges, filtration, chromatography, HPLC/UPLC, ultrafiltration, laminar flow hood, fume hood, Empower, Unicorn, JMP, LIMS, PI Historian (preferred)
  • Experience with robotic liquid handlers, Raman spectroscopy, or software programming (preferred)
