Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse

Job Details Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving peritoneal dialysis (CAPD and APD)
  • Educate and train patients and caregivers on home dialysis techniques, infection prevention, and equipment use
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and environmental evaluations
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the nephrologist and interdisciplinary team
  • Monitor patient progress, labs, and treatment adequacy; communicate changes to the provider
  • Manage and troubleshoot PD-related complications (e.g., peritonitis, catheter issues)
  • Coordinate care with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, infection control policies, and organizational standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance monitoring
  • Provide on-call support as required
Qualifications Education

Associates or better in Nursing. Associates or better in NURSING- ADN.

Experience

Minimum 1–2 years of dialysis experience preferred. Experience in peritoneal dialysis strongly preferred

Registered Nurse
