Position Description:

We are looking for a Design Technology Engineer to join our team. We are looking for candidates who have a degree in engineering, computer aided drafting and design, geomatics, or a related field. Civil Engineering and/or Surveying experience is a plus. Candidates must have at least 10 years of experience providing technical support and have a strong working knowledge of the Autodesk, ESRI, and Bentley ecosystem. We offer a flexible, hybrid schedule after 30 days of employment. 

Typical responsibilities include:

Technical Support & Troubleshooting 

  • Provide front-line support for Civil 3D, Revit, ACC, ArcGIS, Bentley, InfraWorks, Navisworks, and other ADT tools

  • Manage licensing needs for Engineering software 

  • Troubleshoot complex software, hardware, and data interoperability issues (including Forma Docs/Build, Nasuni, ProjectWise, and cloud collaboration environments)

  • Document, track, and resolve issues through internal support channels and vendor escalation when needed

  • Collaborate with the Information Technology team on daily operational activities and project

Platform Administration & Optimization 
  • Manage and deploy user configurations, templates, and project standards for Civil 3D and Revit environments 

  • Lead the setup, versioning, standards, and data management of projects to include: Autodesk Forma, Nasuni, ProjectWise, etc.

  • Lead the coordination of updates, patches, and testing of new software releases across project teams

Training & Enablement 

  • Support onboarding and mentoring of staff on ADT tools, best practices, and standards 

  • Develop quick-reference guides, knowledgebase articles, and workflow videos for internal use

  • Participate in live or virtual training sessions with ADT Tech Leads and regional champions

Innovation & Continuous Improvement 

  • Collaborate with the ADT Practice Lead to identify recurring issues and propose process improvements

  • Participate in pilot projects involving AI, reality capture, and digital twin workflows

  • Contribute to internal standards development, automation scripts, and proof-of-concept testing

Maintain a safe working environment
 
Education:
  • A.S. or B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Geomatics or related technical field is required
  • Civil Engineering and/or Surveying experience a plus 
Skills/Experience:
  • Strong working knowledge of the Autodesk, ESRI, and Bentley ecosystem
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills 

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Ability to speak and write professionally 

  • Design production assistance in an AEC environment a plus
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Forma administration preferred

  • Experience with LISP scripts, Dynamo, or Python automation preferred

  • Knowledge of UAV/reality capture workflows, point clouds, or digital twin concepts preferred

  • Prior involvement in CAD/BIM standards, quality control, or IT support roles preferred
