The role is intended to start in Summer 2027
Work Location: This Role has an on-site working model, with the employee working four (4) days a week in the office, located in Coon Rapids, MN.
What You'll Work On
This isn't a "watch and learn" internship-you'll own projects and see them through.
You'll focus on improving inspection and quality processes across key manufacturing work centers, including:
  • Optimize Inspection Requirements
    • Identify and eliminate inspection-related waste
    • Evaluate current inspection methods, notes, and capabilities
    • Conduct studies to validate and improve process effectiveness
  • Drive Process Improvement
    • Recommend practical upgrades to inspection capabilities
    • Support Lean initiatives and Continuous Improvement (CIF) projects
    • Select and lead a few improvement projects from start to finish
  • Simplify & Improve Documentation
    • Audit and streamline ~500 controlled documents (Work Instructions/JIs)
    • Reduce duplication and consolidate overlapping content
    • Use tools (including AI, if you're savvy!) to modernize documentation
  • Gain Shop Floor Experience
    • Work directly with operators, engineers, and quality teams
    • See how your ideas translate into real-world improvements
