(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
The apprenticeship will support the Cash Management Pool by assisting with portfolio monitoring, investment research, and trading activities in accordance with the organization's Investment Policy Statement (IPS). Participate in the review and analysis of other investment portfolios managed by the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) and external investment managers. Additionally, will attend and observe investment committee and foundation meetings throughout the internship, gaining exposure to investment governance, portfolio oversight, and strategic decision-making processes.
This apprenticeship is classified as a temporary, full-time position. Eligibility is limited to current members of the KSU SMIF (Student Managed Investment Fund) organization.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews weekly holdings, monitors duration, tracks issuer concentration and credit quality, monitors liquidity, and identifies reinvestment opportunities.
2. Organizes trade orders for execution, prepares summaries of proposed trades with rationale and impact on the portfolio, and provides comparisons across short-term instruments to support decisions.
3. Reviews OCIO pitch decks and short-term liquidity recommendations to summarize, highlight actionable ideas for the KSUF cash portfolio, and assist in evaluating externally managed liquidity strategies.
4. Monitors market interest rates, follows Federal Reserve policy and front-end yield movement to develop recommendations, and provides weekly short-term market commentary with investment recommendations.
5. Maintains weekly cash portfolio dashboards for yield, duration, maturities, and credit exposure, prepares investment committee materials and summary reports, and maintains issuer lists and documentation of trades and portfolio decisions.
