Is experience required to be an internship oil rig roughneck?

Typically, an internship for an oil rig roughneck does not require prior experience, as it is designed to provide on-the-job training. However, a high school diploma or equivalent and physical fitness are often necessary, and some basic knowledge of safety procedures can be beneficial.
