MA550 – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Facility seeking a full time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Central Massachusetts. This is a full time job with great pay and great benefits! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to Monitoring psychiatric medications for effectiveness, response of resident, usage of PRN's and side effects. Inform residents of potential side effects of psychiatric medications. Recommend (not prescribe or order) the initiation of any psychiatric medication deemed appropriate. Collaborate with the psychiatrist (and attending MD as appropriate) to document when tapers are clinically contraindicated for a resident. If a dose exceeds guidelines, similar documentation will be done. Recommend nursing and, when appropriate, behavioral interventions to nursing home staff. Develop behavior plans as needed.
