Job description

Pyxera Global (www.PyxeraGlobal.org), an NGO with offices around the world, will be managing a skills-based volunteering program in Huntsville, Alabama scheduled to take place between September and December 2026. Pyxera Global is looking to hire a part-time Local Project Coordinator currently residing in Huntsville, AL to provide project management and logistical support to the selected team of senior-level corporate volunteers who will provide pro bono consulting services to local social sector organizations.


The selected Local Project Coordinator’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:


Project Development & Implementation

  • Support local partner organization in preparing for the arrival of executive corporate volunteers and ensuring stakeholder meetings are arranged.
  • Act as the on-the-ground interface between Pyxera Global and partner organization in Huntsville, including regular correspondence with Pyxera Global staff and other stakeholders to assure satisfaction on the part of the corporate volunteers and partner organizations.


Logistics

  • Act as a logistical and informational resource for corporate volunteers and troubleshoot challenges they may face.
  • Support with in-person and virtual event facilitation alongside Pyxera Global staff
  • Other logistical tasks such as restaurant bookings, photography recruitment, etc.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  1. Must be based in Huntsville with in-depth area familiarity.
  2. College degree in project management, organizational development, sustainability, NGO management, communications, or related field.
  3. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience.
  4. Exceptional writing, communications, and facilitation skills.
  5. Experience working with cross-cultural teams and/ or skills-based volunteering programs.
  6. Experience working with senior-level corporate executives.
  7. Ability to multi-task and manage diverse tasks simultaneously, often with quick turnaround times.
  8. Flexible and able to work in a team, as well as individually, with limited supervision.
  9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  10. Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  11. Experience in virtual and in-person presentation skills.
  12. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.


Salary

This is a part-time consultant position with an estimated timeline of 4 months with an immediate start date. Pay is based on past experience and the type of work required for this position.
