We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented orchestral string technician (luthier) to repair, adjust, and maintain violins, violas, cellos, and basses for students, educators, and performers across the Mid-South. This is a full-time position within one of the nation's most respected and well-equipped string repair departments.
About the Role
As part of our orchestral repair team, you'll perform detailed setup, maintenance, and structural repair work on orchestral string instruments. What You'll Do
- Repair, adjust, and maintain orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass)
- Perform setup work including bridge and soundpost fitting, seam repair, and tonal adjustments
- Maintain instruments for school programs, rental fleets, and individual customers
- Collaborate with other technicians to uphold Amro's high standards of quality and turnaround
- Communicate clearly with educators, musicians, and colleagues regarding repair needs
- An experienced craftsperson with strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- Skilled in orchestral string repair and setup, or trained in luthiery with the desire to grow
