Join our Team as a DESIGN ENGINEER!
The Role:
We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Engineer to join our team! This position offers entry-level engineers an opportunity to join TMHNA's Design Engineering Department. In this role, you'll create quotes and develop design packages to customize industrial vehicles based on industry-specific needs and material-handling requirements. You will plan, design, model, and document new components and systems, as well as develop order-specific engineering bills of materials. You'll apply your engineering background to quickly understand how electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems interact within a forklift, and use hands-on technical skills to troubleshoot and validate fit and function on production vehicles. You will serve as the owner of your designs, supporting internal customers and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Your work will span both internal combustion and battery/electric vehicle designs. If you enjoy tackling challenges with positivity and a bit of humor, you'll feel right at home here.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Requesting quotes from suppliers.
  • Reviewing dealer requests and responding with accurate design solutions.
  • Building 3D models, 2D drawings, and parts lists for requested TSDRs (Toyota Special Design Requests).
  • Supporting designs from design to production to final Kaizen.
  • Supporting department Kaizen & Hoshin activities.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience with CAD and PLM tools (preferably CATIA and Smarteam)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of resilience and comfort performing in a very flexible environment.
  • Intellectually curious and demonstrated ability to learn independently.
  • Accuracy with numbers and great attention to detail
  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strategic, creative, positive attitude, team-oriented, self-motivated, and critical thinker.
  • Ability to constructively interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:
Salary - $65,440 - $83,895 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.
