Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Organizational Development Director is responsible for developing and leading organizational development, leadership development, employee training, and workforce effectiveness initiatives across the organization. This role oversees The Learning Center, leads the organization's educators, and partners with leadership to strengthen management practices, employee engagement, organizational culture, and overall workforce performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the organization's Organizational Development strategy to support business objectives, workforce development, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Oversee the daily operations of The Learning Center, including supervision of the organization's educators and training staff.

  • Develop and deliver specialized management training on effectively supervising unionized employees, including contract awareness, progressive discipline, documentation, communication, labor-management relationships, and best supervisory practices.

  • Conduct organizational assessments, new hires check-ins (60 and 90 days), employee surveys, exit interviews, and other organizational development initiatives to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend action plans.

  • Support leaders in addressing complex employee relations matters by providing coaching, development plans, and management training designed to improve leadership effectiveness and employee outcomes.

  • Serve as an internal consultant to leaders on organizational effectiveness, change management, leadership development, team dynamics, and workforce planning.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources to support succession planning, career development, competency development, and performance management initiatives.

  • Lead organizational change management efforts, communications with employees and logistics with Human Resources.

  • Lead, facilitate, and oversee non-clinical training programs, including onboarding, compliance, leadership development, and professional development, and annual Sexual Harassment training in all areas.

  • Coordinate with clinical leadership to ensure effective planning and delivery of required clinical education.

  • Ensure training materials remain current, engaging, standardized, and aligned with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

  • Oversee training logistics, scheduling, and resource planning to support organizational training needs.

  • Maintain the organization's training calendar and ensure visibility across departments.

  • Lead annual performance appraisal process, communications, trainings, and appraisals reviews.

  • Monitor completion of mandatory and annual education requirements while partnering with department leaders to ensure timely compliance.

  • Manage and optimize the organization's Learning Management System (LMS), training technologies, and reporting capabilities.

  • Oversight of any training collaboration with colleges/universities, such as nursing residencies, summer interns, physician assistant school, etc.

  • Lead employee engagement activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: 8:30AM - 5:30PM

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two to four (2-4+) years of experience in Learning & Development, Human Resources, or related field.

  • Experience in a healthcare or regulated environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

Individuals must be able to sustain specific physical requirements essential to the job. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Standing - duration of up to 8 hours per day in the field/community

  • Sitting/Stationary positions - sedentary for 6-8 hours a day for consecutive hours/periods.

  • Lifting/Push/Pull - up to 50 pounds of equipment, baggage, supplies, and other items used in the job scope using OSHA guidelines, etc.

  • Bending/Squatting - have to be able to safely bend or squat to perform the essential functions under the scope of the job.

  • Stairs/Steps/Walking/Climbing - must be able to maneuver stairs safely, climb up/down and walk to access work areas. The position requires an individual to be able to travel and walk between sites/locations and work areas throughout the day.

  • Agility/Fine Motor Skills - Must demonstrate agility and fine motor skills to operate and activate equipment, devices, instruments, and tools to complete essential job functions (i.e., typing, use of supplies, equipment, etc.)

  • Sight/Visual Requirements - must be able to read documentation, papers, orders, signs, etc., and accurately type/write documentation, etc.

  • Audio Hearing and Motor Skills (language) Requirements - must be able to listen attentively and document information from patients, community members, co-workers, clients, providers, etc., and intake information through audio processing with accuracy. In addition, one must be able to speak comfortably and clearly with language and motor skills for customers to understand an individual.

  • Cognitive Ability - Must be able to demonstrate good decision-making, reasonableness, cognitive ability, rational processing, and analysis to satisfy essential functions of the job.

Salary Range (Min-Max):$145,000.00 - $155,000.00
