Your Role: Innovator in Model Development
You will work on advancing our state-of-the-art thermodynamic and corrosion simulation framework. Our models are used to simulate electrochemical and corrosion phenomena in various industrial verticals all the way from the design stage to asset integrity and predictive maintenance. Passion to innovate and drive research in new directions to increase accuracy, reliability, and predictive capability of our first-principles models are key. Model development, parameterization, and validation require deep scientific judgment, creativity, and integration of experimental data with mechanistic understanding.
Why You're Vital to Our Mission:ย As a key member of our team, youโ€™ll provide leadership in the development of our project portfolio, identifying opportunities for new research and model development. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our thermodynamic, electrochemical, and corrosion models meet the highest standards of accuracy and applicability, and in guiding collaborations with research partners to address critical industrial challenges.
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Model Development:ย Develop, parameterize, and validate thermodynamic, electrochemical, and corrosion models using our next-generation simulation technology.
  • Project Leadership:ย Provide technical guidance and leadership for R&D portfolio projects, identifying opportunities and ensuring alignment with industry needs.
  • Customization:ย Tailor and optimize models for industrial systems to enhance their predictive capabilities in key sectors such as oil and gas, metals and mining, power generation, and water treatment.
  • Client Collaboration:ย Work closely with clients to ensure our modeling solutions meet their unique simulation needs and provide expert guidance on model application and interpretation.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration:ย Collaborate with a team of physical property researchers, process system engineers, and software developers to drive innovation and solve complex problems.
  • Research Partnership: Engage with universities and national laboratories on joint theoretical and experimental studies that tackle important societal issues, particularly in sustainability and asset integrity.
Weโ€™re Looking For:
Educational Background:
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science, Computational Electrochemistry, or a related field
  • Postdoctoral or industrial experience is preferred.
ย Professional Expertise:
  • Strong scientific modeling expertise with emphasis on coding and computational methods.
  • Background in corrosion phenomena, thermodynamic and transport modeling, reaction kinetics, and mechanistic model development.
  • Proven research expertise in analysis of experimental data and model parameterization.
  • Familiarity with conventional chemical processes across upstream and downstream oil & gas, chemical, or power generation sectors is a plus.
  • Proven research expertise in phase/chemical equilibrium calculations with thermodynamic models is preferred.
  • Experience in electrochemical or corrosion-related research and modeling is preferred.

Technical Skills:
  • Skilled in numerical methods and scientific programming (C++, Python, MATLAB, Fortran).
  • Expertise in regression analysis, data interpretation, model parameterization and optimization.
  • Experience working with process simulation platforms (e.g.: OLI, Aspen Plus, HYSYS, Pro-II) is preferred. Familiarity with AI/ML-enhanced modeling approaches (e.g., PINNs, hybrid models) is a plus.
