US Signal is a leading data center services provider, offering secure, reliable network, cloud hosting, colocation, data protection, and disaster recovery services - all powered by its expansive, robust fiber network. US Signal also helps customers optimize their IT resources through the provision of managed services and professional services.


We are looking to have a Data Center Technician join our team at our Auburn Hills, MI data center. This is an onsite role working 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. variable days of the week and requires on-call and after-hours support as needed.


Functions/Responsibilities:


Facility Monitoring: Conduct daily rounds and monitor systems to ensure reliability of electrical, mechanical, and

fire safety systems.

Maintenance & Incident Response: Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and respond to facility and

rack-level events within SLAs.

Hardware & Rack Operations: Install and decommission racks, provide remote hands support, and customer support.

Cabling & Infrastructure: Install, test, and maintain copper and fiber cabling; execute rack and stack procedures aligned with

airflow and cable management standards.

Work Orders & Vendor Oversight: Manage work orders via Salesforce, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and support

customer service requests.

Access Management: Oversee physical access control systems and badge issuance for employees, contractors, and visitors to

ensure secure entry to buildings and restricted areas in compliance with company policies.

Emergency Procedures: Follow escalation protocols and incident response plans to ensure system uptime and personnel safety.

Requirements

What you bring to the team:

  • Facility Systems Knowledge: Experience or willingness to learn electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire systems, and security equipment, including relevant building codes.
  • IT & Software Proficiency: Basic IT networking knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Project).
  • Project & Vendor Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, contractors, and vendors to maintain high standards in data center operations.

Education:

  • Associate's degree or 2+ Years Professional Experience telecommunications or telecommunications office infrastructure to include electrical, HVAC, fire suppression and security

Required License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Must be able to achieve CJIS certification within introductory period of employment.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:


This position may be performed in either a standard office setting or a home office environment. It requires prolonged periods of sitting, frequent use of a computer and other office equipment, and effective time management in a self-directed work environment. Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds may be required.

The anticipated base hourly range for this position is $25.00- $29.00 per hour depending on location, skills, experience, and other job-related factors. This role is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, experience, geographic location, and internal equity.
